Era Pith by Ivanna Baranova
pointing at thorns , orb before finger
outside’s flesh too absorbs time
future cuts to personal motive ,
redolence beyond spring
new life for our citrus , a diaristic sublime
parabolic candor
proverbial
glue
now we can know without knowing
a scene found by walking
etched on memory’s
cement
residing in capacity’s negative wonder
covering shade with a single
green hand
one grass blade
is rendered total , meadow
stupor before a vast
plain , landscape retires
at the onset
of cognition
untraceable all-ness ,
produces stellar technology , hides
light discreetly away
all laid down , what the earth smells like
alive on its floor , laughing
Your poltergeist is throwing stones at the mirror
Era Pith
The poem “Era Pith” [link] was written by Ivanna Baranova in response to the scent.
Sitting against the bergamot tree. Effervescent rind, citrus glint. Movement from tearing fruit from the stem, the rind from the flesh, to the sweetness of the fruit, and a little memory of once being a rock. Pith tossed onto the just-rained soil, your warm back against the warm bark, drowsy with sun, sap and the comfort of perfect dirt. Clear green musk, subtle sensuality.
bergamot, coriander, petitgrain, mitti attar in Mysore sandalwood, elemi, ambrette seed
Phlox scents are made entirely of natural ingredients, unlike commercial perfume. These scents behave differently from those that contain synthetics: they wear closer to the body, and last approximately 4-6 hours on skin. They move with groundedness, subtlety and wiliness.
Due to the personal nature of handmade perfume, Phlox cannot accept returns. Please purchase a [link]sample set[/link] if you are unsure which perfume you might enjoy. Purchase of a sample set comes with a 15% off code toward a future purchase.
